Wheel Hub Active Power Collection Unit for Dynamic Conductive Road Charging

Traveling hundreds of miles with an electric vehicle (EV) requires a large battery combined available static fast chargers along the route. Dynamic conductive road charging is seen as alternative it allows EVs smaller sizes to travel over longer distances and eliminates intermittent stops for charging. To transfer power during driving, tracks must be aligned built either above, beside, or on road. Therefore, EVs’ collection units (PCUs) are mounted vehicle’s roof attached chassis. For mainstream applications, changing design structure chassis future would involve enormous development costs. This article presents dynamic where PCU embedded in wheel EV. Positioning does not require any substantial change integrity car, can easily removed added, similar tires.
